In 1989 when the economy was unstable, he and his partner, Bob Williams, naively created The Mitchell Gold Co. Since then, despite tough economic times and upheaval in the furniture industry, sales have reached in excess of $100 million. When you engage in the Waterworks experience, you gain access to a rich heritage of expertise, service and innovation unlike any other. In 1925, Samuel Grogins started a plumbing supply business in Danbury, Connecticut devoted to the best mechanical offerings available. In 1978, Sam’s daughter, Barbara, and her husband Robert Sallick set out to create a revolution in bathing, bringing incredible visual appeal and impeccable performance to what had often been an overlooked and underserved area of the home.
Mark, who has always loved Art Deco and Mid Century furniture and has collected a house full of it over the years, knows that there are many others who love vintage furniture and want to find it at affordable prices. With his good eye for period pieces as many customers have noted, and Ed's knowledge of furniture and design, the two started buying select vintage furniture, particularly Mid Century, . . . and later offering many of the pieces for sale on Craigslist and at Washington DC's Eastern Market. People who love older furniture quickly began to patronize their budding business and the two even offered to look for pieces at clients' request. Months later the furniture collection was getting bigger and bigger and thus, Hunted House was born!

The boutique, Le Village Marché, (the village shop) is located just outside Washington, D.C., in the heart of Arlington, Virginia’s newly revitalized Shirlington Village. A unique blend of the old and the new, the rustic and the refined, Angela has created an impressive collection of vintage home décor and chic accessories that reflect some of her inspiration of Paris. The store opened March 2007.
Set in a towering, light-filled space — which looks more like an antique showroom than a paper shop — the store sells a noteworthy roster of cards and stationery, including Snow & Graham, Orla Kiely, Waste Not Paper, Elum, and Oblation. Using her flea market prowess, Phelps assembled props like an old factory lunch table (with intact stools), a railroad cart, vintage cameras, and farm tables to pimp her wares. Cards mounted on reclaimed doors evoke a museum display.
